A good week, generally. I want to fit in more strength and core fitness training but am struggling to find the time – although that may have been just because of this weeks schedule and the killer PT session which took my legs out of commission for 2 days.
On Saturday I volunteered at my local ParkRun, which was cool – although I got very cold and wished I was running – but that is what next week is for. My 10 miles on the horse trail, however, were extremely muddy, extremely sandy and I spent most of it splashing through puddles – I was aiming for a solid 90 minute time but the unforgiving terrain and rutting deer took its toll and I dropped 10 minutes through the second half of the course. Regardless, I finished strong and happy, and of course extremely wet and muddy. Turbo X is next Sunday. More on this later in the week.
I always thought the challenge of running a marathon would be the run. What I am discovering is that it is actually in the training. Having a plan to follow is making my life soo much easier when it comes to planning runs, but fitting in the other cross training activity has been a bit of a struggle. Thankfully, I have time to make this work.
